The Romanian Football Federation announces the launch of the new National Team kit, under the concept of the campaign "The t-shirt that makes us visible".
The new kit is more than just a sports outfit – it is a statement of identity, pride and belonging. Every detail of the design speaks of the courage and perseverance of those who represent Romania on the field, but also of the special bond between the team and its fans.
The launch of the new kit marks the beginning of a journey towards the 2026 World Cup, hosted by the USA, Mexico and Canada – the first two being countries that evoke fond memories for Romanian football. With this kit, the Soul Generation continues to write a story that makes us visible around the world.
The National Team will debut in the new kit in the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina, scheduled for March 21 at the National Arena.
The central element of the new collection is the yellow t-shirt, a symbol of tradition and passion of Romanian fans. Inspired by the iconic model worn at the 1994 World Cup – a landmark moment in the history of Romanian football – the new design combines modern aesthetics with the symbolic power of the past. The tricolor is subtly highlighted by lateral stripes, visible from any angle, reminding us that national identity remains ever-present, no matter where we are.
This kit tells a story about what it means to be Romanian, whether you are at home or in the diaspora. The tricolor becomes a bridge to our cultural roots, a symbol of pride and perseverance.
In addition to the yellow t-shirt, the collection also includes two secondary kits, in red and blue, which for the first time will be different in design from the main kit. These kits, being used on the road, further highlight the tricolor.
The design of the t-shirts was made by Jean Popescu, a Romanian designer based in Copenhagen, passionate about football shirts and the stories behind them. Jean Popescu has been telling stories using images and shirts to connect young people with the history of Romanian football since 2020, when he began writing detailed articles about the culture and tradition of shirts. Jean Popescu, this is not his first collaboration with FRF, in 2023 he created the font dedicated to the shirts, a font inspired by the lines of the Column of Infinity, the famous sculpture by Constantin Brâncuși, and which will also be found on the new equipment, in a stylized form.
