Our Story

At Viggo London, every suit begins with a story — a story of dedication, precision, and over two decades of relentless passion for tailoring.

We are more than a brand. We are a team of artisans who invest deeply in every client that walks through our doors. With roots in Romania and craftsmanship born in Italy, our mission has always been to deliver excellence — not just in garments, but in the entire experience.

Every fitting is personal. Every stitch is intentional. From the first consultation to the final button, we believe in offering more than clothes — we offer confidence, presence, and elegance.

We work hand-in-hand with some of the world’s most prestigious fabric mills — including Loro Piana, Dormeuil, Vitale Barberis Canonico, Holland & Sherry, Tallia di Delfino — to ensure every suit begins with the finest raw materials. But fabric alone is not enough. What truly defines our work is what’s beneath the surface.

What Makes Our Suits Truly Exceptional

At Viggo, every suit is a dialogue between craftsmanship and character. While most brands stop at surface elegance, we go much deeper — into the structure, stitching, and soul of the garment.

We are proud to be among the very few tailoring houses in the world capable of executing all six internationally recognized levels of suit construction — from fused business basics to fully handmade masterpieces.

The 6 Levels of Tailoring Excellence

Level 1 – Fused Construction
Basic entry level, where the fabric is bonded to a synthetic interlining.
Used only when needed for budget-oriented garments.
No handmade work. No longevity. No soul.

Level 2 – Half Canvas (Chest Side Only)
The canvas covers part of the chest.
Minimal internal structure and machine-stitched throughout.
A light, fast solution for casual tailoring. Still limited shaping.

Level 3 – Half Canvas (Chest + Lapel)
Canvas extended across the chest and into the lapel.
This gives better form and drape, allowing the jacket to mold over time.
Still mostly machine-made but a step closer to craftsmanship.

Level 4 – Full Canvas with Partial Handwork

The jacket now has a full internal canvas with key areas finished by hand:

- Armhole finishing by hand — allows greater freedom of movement and reduces tension at the shoulder line. The natural movement of the arm is supported without stress on the fabric.

- Hand-stitched collar edge — creates a refined roll and perfect lay along the neck. This detail enhances the way the collar frames the face and sits without pulling.

- Hand-shaped bottom corners — preserve the shape over time and resist curling or sagging. This finishing touch gives the jacket a cleaner, longer-lasting silhouette.

This level blends machine precision with artisan soul. It's the moment when a jacket becomes alive.

Level 5 – Full Canvas with Increased Handwork

This is the gold standard in premium tailoring:

- Lapels are shaped manually for sculpted elegance. Hand-padded lapels offer three-dimensional structure and gently roll over the chest.

- Collars are hand-attached for perfect alignment with the chest and neck. This prevents gapping or pulling whenworn.

- Hand-sewn linings (shoulder, armhole, hem) offer flexibility and breathability.

These details create a jacket that moves with the body and allows airflow.

- All buttonholes are hand-stitched with silk thread, creating unique, luxurious finishes. This protects the fabric and elevates aesthetic detail.

- Buttons are attached by hand with a silk shank to ensure longevity and a smooth closure. They remain secure yet flexible with movement.

For clients who seek atelier character over factory efficiency, this is the preferred level.

Level 6 – Masterpiece (Entirely Handmade)

The ultimate expression of craftsmanship. Every detail is made by hand:

- Lapels are entirely hand-padded for natural structure and longevity. This creates a flawless drape and a graceful curve — impossible to replicate by machine.

- Collars are shaped and sewn by hand to mold over time to the body. The result is unmatched comfort and a refined, personal fit.

- Linings and hems are entirely hand-stitched to adapt to natural body movement. The garment moves with the wearer and avoids premature wear.

- Buttonholes and finishings are individually hand-crafted with precision and silk. These are miniature works of art that define luxury tailoring.

This is not just a suit — it's a garment for legacy. Worn, admired, and passed down.
